The project of expanding the Central with a second unit
of 300 MW, financed by an Aid credit, a commercial credit
and a grant, was finished in May 1998, after the trials of
reliability and continuity of the service. This initiative
concerns the supplementary activities related to the
conversion of the “grant for Aid credit”, as a consequence
of law No. 412/91, in December 2000. The consortium Ansaldo
- Sademi has received the payment, in return for specific
services and supplying additional spare parts, and the
Egyptian Electricity Authority has released in January 2001
the certificate of final acceptance. |
