Objective:
Contributing to the conservation and safeguarding of
Egyptian archeological and cultural heritage
Description of the project:
The project, as part of the
ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAM,
promotes the transfer of technology and know-how to the
archaeological management, particularly in the archaeological,
environmental, operative and tourist aspects. In particular, the
intervention sets up an environmental (anthropic) risk map of
the
North Saqqara site and, more specifically, of the archaeological
and artistic aspects. The project is divided into two phases:
the first is of a scientific nature (census and documentation of
the structures in the area of
Saqqara and
their geo-reference); the second is of a managerial nature
focusing on the management of the site with a particular
interest in minimizing environmental and anthropic risks.
