The initiative aims at the establishment of the terms of reference for the competition open to the consultants and the architects of the whole world. The new museum will be located near the Pyramids of Gizah and will represent a symbol of the Third Millennium for the entire world and of the Seventh Millennium for Egypt, underlining the continuity from the ancient to the modern. The terms of reference should reflect the conceptual formulation of the new museum indicated in the feasibility study. The initiative involves both the UNESCO as the sponsor of the competition and the International Union of Architects as the international body that guarantees correct procedures of the competition. The terms of the competition constitute a document of outstanding scientific content that should be reflected in the quality of the constructed product.
