Creation of Sustainable Job Opportunities to Alleviate Poverty and Unemployment in Minia

Type of intervention: Capacity building, training, technical assistance and micro credit

Objective: Contributing to sustainable socio-economic development of Minia Governorate to alleviate poverty and unemployment.

Description of the project: The project intends to contribute to sustainable socio-economic development of Minia Governorate, through the economic empowerment of vulnerable youth, women and handicapped by providing them with access to effective financial and non-financial services in the aim of improving the quality of their life.

In particular the project aims also at creating an Employment and Information Center, and at establishing professional and vocational standard training programs and an effective micro credit system to help new job opportunities.

The expected results are:

·        An assessment of markets demands for manpower in the targeted areas has been made.

·        Development of guidelines and standards for technical and professional training formats for main vocations have been done.

·        Employment and Information Center have been created and working efficiently.

·        Professional and Basic vocational training have established.

·        Effective and sustained loan system has established.

New full and part-time jobs have been created through training courses and micro credit delivery to new and existing micro enterprises.
