Objective:

Improvement of the country’s food situation from the productivity, conservation and marketing point of views.

Description of the project:

Italy, like other countries, offers to Egypt food products in the aim of alleviating the chronic deficit of the Egyptian food balance. The availability in the internal market of these products at market prices generates huge financial availability (counterpart funds) that will be deposited in fruitful accounts and utilized to finance projects falling in line with the objective. The role of the Italian Embassy in the framework of the International Ministerial Committee for Foreign Aid is limited to the control of the administrative regularity in the management of the funds and the formulation of opinions regarding the proposed projects.
