Egypt is currently facing major challenges to
dramatically raise the level of human development and reduce poverty and
regional disparities in many of its territories
Today, we are witnessing a vibrant dialogue in the
country on new policy directions needed to energize and boost the
country’s progress in the economic, social and political sectors, which
underlines the necessity of overcoming the traditional social policies
towards a modern social contract aligned to the demand and needs of an
open economy.
With
the aim of reach a national consensus on the effective meaning and
implications of a social contract and strengthen the trust between
Government and its citizens, the project has created a Center for Social
Contract at Prime Minister Cabinet. This Center will, therefore,
coordinate and monitor the human development in Egypt and promote a
modern concept of citizenship based on the democratic governance
principles.
